Terry Lee Schaub

Terry Lee Schaub, 62, of Katy died on July 21, 2024, at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.  

Terry was born April 20, 1962 to Charles and Joyce Schaub of Lampasas.  He attended school in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in the Class of 1980.  He played Badger basketball and was a passionate Badger fan.  

Terry was the sports editor at the Lampasas Dispatch Record for 17 years before he moved on to other newspaper positions, including advertising director and publisher, in Killeen, Round Rock, Smithville, Katy and Odessa.  After leaving the Odessa American, he returned to Katy.

Terry loved the Houston Astros and celebrated their two recent World Series championships.  He also loved the Texas Longhorns and, although they continued to let him down, he followed the Dallas Cowboys and was becoming enthused about the Houston Texans.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Houston, where he was baptized on June 24, 2018.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, and by an aunt, Linda Gail Schaub.

He is survived by his brother, Randy Schaub and wife Pat; nephews, Will and Matt; cousin, David Hazelwood and wife Paula of Lampasas; and uncle, Brent Schaub of Lampasas.

Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10 am.
