Tommie Warren Tucker, age 81 of Copperas Cove, passed away on the evening of March 31, 2024, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held on April 26th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at First Methodist Church Marble Falls - 1101 Bluebonnet Drive Marble Falls, Texas 78654.  (830) 693-4341

Tommie was born on May 22, 1942, to Leland Bruce Tucker and Rosalie Thelma Thomas in Denver, Colorado.  He grew up in Colorado and Wyoming with his three brothers, Gary Bruce '44. James Erman '46, and David Robert '48.

After graduating from High school at Campion Academy in Loveland Colorado, he attended college for a short while and then served 21 years in the United States Army. He was a broadcast journalist and served in Germany with the American Forces Network, in Europe in West Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Munich, and Vietnam in Saigon and Pleiku with the American Forces Vietnam Network. Following his military service, he worked for 20 years at Fort Hood, Texas specializing in Audio/Visual technology and Computer science.

In 1988, Tommie became a Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church with the opportunity to minister and preach in many churches in the Central Texas Conference and the Southwest Texas Conference. He was very active in the Walk to Emmaus movement and served on the International Steering Committee and as the Central Jurisdiction Walk to Emmaus Regional Representative. He began his active pulpit ministry as a licensed local pastor in 2004 serving in Kempner, San Angelo, and Granite Shoals before retiring in 2015. He then began serving as a part-time minister, the Pastor of Visitation, at FUMC Marble Falls for another 7 years before retiring in 2022.

Tommie loved teaching and leading bible studies. He was a voracious reader and loved to share what he learned. He was always on the go, organizing day trips to local places of interest, ball games, and international trips to Israel and the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany.

Tommie was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce, and Rosalie Tucker, his brothers Gary Bruce and David Robert, and his first wife Sylvia Christa Pohl Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Aguero, and his children Michael Tucker(Dawn), Vincent Tucker(Lisa), and Diane Pavelin(Paul), 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter and Lillie's two children Kimberly Walker(Christopher), and Tanya Perez(Arthur) and, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
