Born on September 22, 1951, in San Benito, Texas, Ubaldo led a life marked by steadfast dedication to his family and country. He served proudly in the military for 21 years, achieving the title of First Sergeant before retiring, after which he transitioned into a rewarding career as a contractor for the civil service.

His helpful nature made him a cherished figure among friends and family alike. Ubaldo came alive during family gatherings where he would often be found barbequing or frying fish, sharing his love for cooking with everyone around. He derived immense joy from taking his grandchildren fishing, fostering a deep connection with them, and creating lasting memories that would be cherished forever.

He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Castillo, and his daughters: Aimee Castillo-Griffin (William) and Cynthia Castillo. Ubaldo was a proud grandfather to Gabrielle Griffin, Isaac Griffin, and Amaya Griffin. His siblings—Estella Hawkins, Salvador (Juanita) Sanchez, and Ernestina (Roque) Rodriguez—additionally mourn his passing.
