Yvonne Marla McAfee "Abadee"

Yvonne Marla McAfee, affectionately known as “Abadee,” was born on June 16, 1960, in Junction City, Kansas, and departed this life on July 6, 2025, in Lampasas, Texas. Throughout her journey, Yvonne devoted herself to lifting others through her work as a CASA advocate, daycare provider, and business owner, offering boundless compassion, understanding, and unwavering dedication to the children and families she served.

Her gift for creating lasting connections transformed ordinary moments into cherished memories, as well as quiet acts of kindness. Her presence radiated warmth and grace, making all who encountered her feel seen and loved. Yvonne was a master of connection, turning simple gatherings into unforgettable experiences with her warmth and skill. Through card and board games, she created a tapestry of joy, blending friendly competition with shared laughter and making everyone feel valued and cherished.

At the heart of her life was her family. She was the proud mother of five children—LaFranshonna McAllister, Syretta Moses, Latoya Moses, Lisa-Khondrea McAfee, and Bobby McAfee—and cherished her role as grandmother to 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother to five. Yvonne is also survived by her brothers, Kinsey Woodson, Donnell Turner, and Tory Woodson; her sisters, Taunia Moore and Lacretia Meades; and her nephews, Dedric Riser and Michael Jones.

Preceded in death by her mother, Ilona Woodson, and her grandparents, Lorraine and Oz McDonald, Yvonne leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. While words may falter in expressing the depth of loss felt by her absence, Her spirit lives on in the enduring bonds she created and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
