Gayle N. Van Winkle

Gayle N. Van Winkle, 79 of Evant, TX died January 16, 2017 at Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville. Gayle was born April 18, 1937 in Coryell County the son of Alex Edward Van Winkle and Callie Cordelia (White) Van Winkle. He married Alma Hurd. Gayle served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed wood-working, working on cars, hunting, horses, the ranch, tinkering in his shop and his 1966 Chevy truck. He was a truck driver for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Survivors include wife, Alma Van Winkle Sons; Michael Edward Van Winkle and Anthony Eugene Van Winkle Daughters; Cheryl Lynn Ludwig, Cynthia Denise Van Winkle, Cheri Gay Van Winkle, Kimberly Darlene Staiti, Shelley Diane Schoonover and Tina Louise Baker Sister, Nita Mack 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren Gayle was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Shirley Ann Norris and Connie Beth Wright and Ermalee McCallister Gayle’s body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday April 15, 2017 at noon at Cedar Ridge Park in Moffat.
